So far, I've been impressed with how the HBO writers are handling Renly and the Tyrells. My concern is not with the spirit of the books - that ship has long sailed and hopefully fallen off the end of the map! - but with the honesty of Renly's relationships with Loras and Marg. So I preemptively freak out before every trailer in fear of Renly having been re-written into a two-timing two-face but there have been no false notes, so far :)
Very excited to see Littlefinger littlefingering, as usual!
