I have a lot of thoughts but in no position to be coherent tonight (it was too sexy)... but I just love how Renly went from the horny confident bossy scene with Loras to the puppy scared virgin scene with Margaery. It was sooo good.

Every character was at their best. A+

i think hbo wanted to fool us with that scene (it was so hot omg, ass grabbing and everything), so they could get away with it without showing any actual sex lol

it was a really good scene though, and margaery was flawless. it was perfect.

Much as I am not a fan of Catelyn Stark, she did seem to have the right of it in that Renly and his army are only playing at war. That isn't to say they couldn't shape up to be formidable, but at the moment it is only the size of the army that seems impressive. I think in that, the episode was faithful to the spirit of the books.

But as cute as Finn Jones is when he is being bested/jealous/petulant, I always imagined Loras as having a kind of hero-worship for Renly, a feeling of deeper purpose in what was between them, which makes the jealousy as the episode portrayed seem a bit out of sorts with what I'd read into his character. That could just be me, though.

I did get a grin out of Loras offering up Margaery and then Margaery offering up Loras in much the same way. Poor Renly, he didn't seem to know how to cope with the intrigues and machinations of the wily and very practical Tyrells.

Overall, Margaery, Brienne, and Arya ruled the episode and I loved it - and them :)

oh man it was parfait, Gethin was on point and Renly was so fantastic. He was so kind to everyone - Cat, Brienne, Margaery and of course Loras and even when he asked some stranger dude about his foot. And I loved how he went from being a confident ~sex god~ with Loras to a freaked out kid when Margaery started trying to seduce him.

I think I may be a dissenting opinion here but Loras pouting was simply adorable to me :3 The bedroom scene reminded me of a typical "I'm mad at you but you're going to have to figure out why" and Renly is just so lost and "wat" and is left there with his legs sprawled apart and alone and just...wat. /incoherent thoughts

Edit: Also, Gethin Anthony's happy clapping after the Loras/Brienne fight. Oh R'hllor XD

Loved the scene. Absolutely loved the kissing, Renly was perfect, Finn was gorgeous but...

To stir the pot, I do have to say that I wasn't very pleased with the writing of this scene. Loras was such a girl. He was completely into it until Renly found his bruise then he was all jealous and upset and cockblocky. That's something a woman would do, let his emotions overrule his desire. Men dont change their mind about sex that easy. It just seemed to me that they wrote the scene from a straight perspective borrowing from experiences from a straight relationship and handed it over to 2 guys to pull off as best as they could. And don't get me wrong, Gethin and Finn did fantastically with what they were given. It just felt like a discrepancy to me.
